About us
The Earth has existed for approximately 4.54 billion years — Zeměkoule, a mere twenty. 😊 In that time, hundreds of children have passed through our doors, and we are proud to say that they have left happy, fulfilled, and well-prepared.
Children at Zeměkoule embrace life with enthusiasm. They are caring, communicate openly with their peers, love to play and discover, try new things, express their feelings and opinions, and thrive in a community where they understand and respect the boundaries in place. They love time in the garden and the forest; they exercise, relax, sing, and feel a genuine sense of belonging. It is with these foundations that they leave Zeměkoule, ready to meet the challenges life has in store.
Our Team
The educators at Zeměkoule are, above all, people who approach their work with deep dedication, great commitment, and genuine enthusiasm for collaboration.
Each of us brings something different — one is a visual artist, another a gardener, a third an actor, a fourth a sports enthusiast — and that is precisely why we complement each other so well. What unites us is a respectful approach toward one another and toward the children, a drive for continuous professional learning and growth, and the ability to recognise the uniqueness of every child and to support their individual development.
Our goal is to create the very best conditions for children's learning and flourishing — to care for and protect them, and at the same time to share fully in these precious years of their lives.

Co-founded Open Gate Boarding School in 2004. Founded Zeměkoule in 2008, which she has led as Director ever since. Co-founded ZŠ Compass in 2013. She is deeply fulfilled by working with children, families, and educators, and finds great fulfillment in building environments where everyone feels welcome and purposeful.

She studied Social Pedagogy and Social Work at Charles University; working with children and families has been at the heart of her life ever since. Everything she has gathered along the way — as a mother of three girls and as an endlessly curious student of educational and coaching approaches — she weaves naturally into her work at Zeměkoule.

(Native Speaker, Prague since 2019) — Holds TEFL and Young Learners Training (YLT) certifications. Finds it profoundly rewarding and remarkable to witness children's growth first-hand and to see how much they genuinely enjoy acquiring a new language.

Worked for several years in early years and primary settings in London, with children aged three to eleven. Gained experience supporting children with special educational needs and leading various sports and leisure activities. Has a lifelong passion for field hockey.

Jitka, teacher of the pre-school group, completed her studies in pedagogy for teaching assistants at the Institute for Pedagogical and Psychological Counselling of the Czech Republic. Being around children brings her genuine joy. She deeply admires their natural openness, curiosity and playfulness.

Working with children has always been my dream. I studied Social Services with a specialisation in care for children under three, and more recently Early Childhood and Out-of-School Education. I have been part of the Zeměkoule kindergarten team since 2020, during which time I have gained invaluable experience above all with the youngest children. Every day I strive to create an environment full of kindness, respect and a sense of safety. In the coming school year I look forward to a new chapter — working with the older group of children and accompanying them on their continuing journey of discovery.

Children are her whole life, and working with them has always been her calling. Their presence fills her with warmth and a deep sense of purpose. She enjoys teaching them new things and takes great delight in watching their progress and achievements.

Partnership with Compass Primary School
Compass Primary School was co-founded by Zeměkoule's Director, Eliška Adámková, who remains actively involved in its development and operation
to this day.
Our partnership is long-standing and ongoing. Throughout the year, we organise joint activities, reciprocal visits between kindergarten and school children, reading sessions, workshops, and events that help children become familiar with the school environment and build a sense of confidence and belonging within it. Compass is also the primary school attended by the majority of our children after leaving Zeměkoule.
For families with children in both institutions, the proximity of the two schools is an added practical benefit: Compass is situated just 200 metres from Zeměkoule, making daily logistics simple and convenient.
What Families Say
“Zeměkoule is a magical place where children learn about the world, about themselves, and about others through experiences full of kindness, respect, and understanding. Both of our daughters attended with tremendous enthusiasm. Rarely have I encountered such dedication from educators who invest continuously in their own professional development and create rich, creative programmes with genuine love. They are often part of the programme themselves — playing, making things, inventing stories — and these are the moments that stay with children forever. The kindergarten also has a beautiful, enchanting garden and a wonderful cook who prepares wholesome, genuinely delicious meals. For me, Zeměkoule is truly exceptional. I recommend it wholeheartedly.” Kristina Hummelová
“Our heartfelt thanks go to all of you for your patience, professionalism, and the inspiration you pass on to our children. We would also like to thank every member of the kindergarten staff — all those who work to ensure the school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming place. We are acutely aware that what makes a kindergarten work is the collective effort of everyone involved. With deep gratitude and respect.”
The Pučelík Family
“We have two children at the kindergarten, and its only downside is that they never want to come home in the afternoon. What matters most to us is that both children genuinely love Zeměkoule — and it is remarkable to watch how rapidly they have grown because of it. They are more independent, more open, more self-confident, and considerably more socially developed. This is not just the impression of proud parents — it is truly visible. Much of the credit belongs to the educators, whose dedication and energy seem to know no end of the working day. Their energy, care, and commitment to the children far exceed anything we would have expected from a kindergarten. And ultimately, the children’s outstanding results at primary school entry assessments speak for themselves. We are grateful that Zeměkoule is accompanying our children on their very first great journey through life.” The Pardubický Family
“Both our children have attended Zeměkoule since the age of two and a half, and we love it dearly. From the very first visit, several things make an immediate impression: the beautiful garden, the forest right next door, its wonderful gym, the on-site kitchen with its genuinely nutritious and delicious food, and the native English-speaking educators. But what we value most is the enormous warmth with which the teaching team approaches every child. They raise children with tolerance and decency, teach them to get along with others and to build meaningful relationships — younger with older, boys with girls, children with adults — all naturally and without pressure. And then there is the wonderful parent community, which the kindergarten has been building for many years. We come together at countless events — both those organised by the kindergarten and those hosted by the affiliated primary school next door. We have not regretted our choice for a single moment, and we recommend Zeměkoule to everyone we can.”
